Streptavidin & Biotin Products

biotin antibody vial

Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein of bacterial origin with high affinity for biotin (dissociation constant, KD=10-14 M). The high affinity binding of streptavidin to biotin is commonly utilized for signal amplification, and increased sensitivity in immunodetection protocols such as western blots, ELISAs and flow cytometry based bead assays.

Streptavidin Conjugates

Cytodiagnostics offers gold nanoparticles, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), magnetic beads and fluorescently labeled streptavidin that can be used in conjunction with our affinity purified biotinylated secondary antibodies, or for the detection of any other biotinylated molecules.

Biotin & Biotinylated Conjugates

Cytodiagnostics offer a complete range of affinity purified biotinylated secondary antibodies to probe your primary antibody label in your assay prior to detection using a streptavidin conjugate.

If you want to create your own biotin probe, use our Biotin Labeling Kit to biotinylate your protein, antibody or other molecule. Biotinylated proteins and other ligands can also readily bind to a streptavidin solid support, such as streptavidin-resins, conjugated beads or other nanoparticles such as gold nanoparticles.
